Location and
\nfacilities<\/h1>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1\/2″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” overlay_strength=”0.3″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text]In an area of 230,000 m\u00b2, the Anami Institute is inserted in the Miringuava River Basin, whose delta is in the Igua\u00e7u River and is entirely located in the municipality of S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 dos Pinhais.<\/p>\n

The Institute has complete infrastructure, that includes input storage warehouse, veterinary outpatient and surgical centers, quarantine sector, veterinary kitchen, dressing rooms and meal halls for staff and the enclosures for the primates and other animals. The latter were developed in accordance with each species biological needs, taking into account factors like well-being, solar exposure and safety for animals and caretakers. The facilities were built in a former agricultural property.<\/p>\n

The Institutes perimeter also comprises weirs and areas for temporary food product cropping (such as corn, vegetables, roots, fruit and other legumes) without the use of chemical fertilizers, only organic compost. The facility is in a Permanent Preservation Area (PPA) that, in accordance with the current Brazilian Forestry Code (Law no. 12,651 of 25\/May\/2012), may be classified as: \u201cprotected area covered, or not, by native vegetation with the environmental role of preserving water resources, landscape, geological stability and the biodiversity, facilitating the genic flow for fauna and flora, protecting the soil and guaranteeing the well-being of human populations\u201d.<\/p>\n

The surrounding area also comprises remainders of the Mixed Ombrophiles Forest, thus characterized for still containing specimens of the Paran\u00e1 Pine (Arauc\u00e1ria angustifolia<\/em>). Other plant species of high relevance found in the area are Imbuia (Ocotea porosa); <\/em>Pinheiro-bravo (Podocarpus lambertii<\/em>); Cedar (Cedrella fissilis<\/em>), Canela-sassafr\u00e1s (Ocotea odorifera<\/em>); Aroeira (Schinus terebinthifolius<\/em>) and the Matte herb tree (Ilex paraguariensis<\/em>). O trabalho desenvolvido pelo Instituto Anami consiste em acolher, proteger e reabilitar os grandes primatas. Os mesmos cuidados se estendem a outras esp\u00e9cies como papagaios, araras, tucanos, macacos-aranha, macacos-prego, cervos e jabutis, que tamb\u00e9m adv\u00eam de situa\u00e7\u00f5es de maus tratos, da ind\u00fastria do entretenimento e de apreens\u00f5es do tr\u00e1fico ilegal por parte das autoridades competentes – Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renov\u00e1veis (IBAMA), Instituto Ambiental do Paran\u00e1 (IAP) e Pol\u00edcia Ambiental.<\/h4>\n

Dotado de amplas instala\u00e7\u00f5es capazes de acomodar esp\u00e9cies da fauna silvestre, nativa e ex\u00f3tica, conta com assist\u00eancia profissional e estrutura adequada, proporcionando uma vida tranquila e protegida a todos os seus moradores. Rodeado de mata nativa, tamb\u00e9m abriga dentro de seu per\u00edmetro diversas esp\u00e9cies nativas de vida livre, que buscam alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o e ambiente seguro para sua reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o, um verdadeiro santu\u00e1rio da fauna brasileira.<\/p>\n

Atualmente, vivem no Instituto cerca de 500 animais, entre os quais os chimpanz\u00e9s. Lamentavelmente, muitos deles passaram longos anos de suas vidas confinados em jaulas deterioradas, em completa solid\u00e3o, privados do conv\u00edvio social com outros chimpanz\u00e9s e sem as m\u00ednimas condi\u00e7\u00f5es para uma vida saud\u00e1vel. Estes eventos, que deixam traumas profundos, f\u00edsicos e psicol\u00f3gicos, requerem da equipe muito trabalho, dedica\u00e7\u00e3o e perseveran\u00e7a.<\/p>\n

Nossa miss\u00e3o e nossa luta \u00e9 a reabilita\u00e7\u00e3o de cada primata e a sua integra\u00e7\u00e3o com outros indiv\u00edduos da mesma esp\u00e9cie, j\u00e1 que a ressocializa\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 fundamental para a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o destes indiv\u00edduos que, por algum motivo, nunca poder\u00e3o voltar para a natureza.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
